ABOUT ME
🧑💼 Who is Miguel Atares?
I’m a 25-year-old Biotechnologist from Spain with a Master’s in Food Safety and Innovation from the University of Zaragoza. For the last few years, I’ve been working as a Research, Development & Innovation Technician in the food industry.
I’m an energetic, analytical, and extroverted person. I enjoy training at the gym and doing high-intensity workouts like HIIT. On weekends, I love spending time with my girlfriend, family or friends — but during the week, I’ve spent the last year studying every evening to become a Data Analyst.
This mix of science, curiosity, and a passion for improvement defines who I am — both professionally and personally.

📊 Why am I switching to Data Analytics?
So I decided to pursue a more applied role in the private sector, earning my Master’s and landing a job in R&D&I before even finishing it. At first, it was exciting. But over time, I felt limited. I wasn’t learning, I wasn’t being challenged, and I couldn’t grow or prove what I am really capable of.
That’s when I started exploring other paths. After some trial and error, I took a Python course… and something clicked. I fell in love with the tech world and all its possibilities. Then I discovered the role of Data Analyst, and it felt like everything I was looking for:
It is the perfect blend of creativity, technical skills, and strategy, finally finding my path.
🏆 What makes me your best option?
My skill set, mindset, and lifestyle are all aligned with what a Data Analyst needs.
1️⃣ First – I build my own projects
I never take a course and just move on to the next one. — I’ve spent most of my time building independent projects with each technology I learn and truly understand how things work. I believe growth happens when you’re forced to figure things out on your own.
2️⃣ Second – My job already gave me key analyst skills
working with departments like:
- Marketing (claims and branding)
- Export (international requirements)
- Engineering (technical limitations)
- Quality (certifications and allergen control)
- Planning (production timelines and feasibility)
3️⃣ Third – My lifestyle reflects commitment resilience
I work 8–9 hours a day in R&D&I, and then spend 2–3 hours more studying Data Analytics and improving my skills. At 25, I feel like I’ve got the drive of a junior just out of university, but the maturity and discipline of someone who’s already used to pressure, deadlines, and working with others.
